Our Mission
First lets all work on reducing waste,  reuse what we can,  then recycle everything possible,  recycling in factories becomes easier using Stautmann Balers. Recycling is a good solution but there is always going to be some product that can't be recycled. Our Mission is to use all this waste, turning what was destined for a landfill into a stable low carbon fuel replacing coal.

Why PEFCO?

Proven Technology – Backed by WastAway’s patented Cellulator® systems, validated by international environmental standards.

Carbon Advantage – Designed to meet or exceed ETS (Emissions Trading Scheme) requirements, with a goal of net-zero or negative emissions.

Waste stops being waste when it come out of the patented equipment supplied by WastAway in Tennessee we believe that's when it crosses the line and is turned into a fuel or commodity with an intended beneficial use.... rather than waste destined for disposal.

460 Tonnes of Waste per day will come into each plant each day. 30 Tonnes are selected with AI and near infra red sorters, this product is not suitable for Pefco pellets for a number of reasons. Some plastics contain chlorine, in which case this product is sperated and sent to landfill as waste, if it can't be recycled . Approx 30 Tonnes per day will be baled and sent away as recycled commodoties, the balance is processed and made into  fuel.....here are some specific examples of when waste is no longer waste.

  1. Cardboard is sorted and sent to a Balers NZ Strautmann baler to be baled into a tight compact cardboard bale - it is no longer waste.

  2. Aluminium is sorted and taken to a Balers NZ Strautmann Briquetter - It is no longer waste.

  3. Polystyrne is taken from the line and sent to a Balers NZ Strautmann Styropress - It is no longer waste.

  4. Steel and many other items are sorted for further procesing and sale.

  5. Some items heavy in metals or chlorine  are rejected landfilled and this is classed as waste.

  6. Remaining carefully selected product is processed in a steam steriliser, then a steam cellulator dried and pellitised it is no longer waste. it has been transformed into  a valuable carbon zero resource.

Scale & Reliability – Our first New Zealand plant will demonstrate our ability to process 460 tonnes of waste per day, with the ability to replicate across multiple regions.

Local & Global Partnerships – Working alongside councils, industry leaders, and energy providers to build a resilient, circular economy.

Our Vision

We see a future where every community can convert waste,  otherwise destined for the landfill into clean energy replacing coal.

We are building the foundation for a low-carbon, zero waste to landfill future.
